2012 CDC Disease Detective Camp - Application Now Available 列印

 

 

The David J. Sencer CDC Museum is pleased to announce the 2012 CDC Disease Detective Camp (DDC)  held at CDC’s headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. DDC is an academic day camp for upcoming high-school juniors and seniors who will be 16 years old by the first day of camp.

Dates for the 2012 sessions are June 18-22 and July 16-20, and applications are now available at http://www.cdc.gov/museum/camp/about.htm.  Application to the camp is open to the public. Each session will include the same activities, from 8:45 AM – 4:00 PM each day. There are no camp fees, but each camper is responsible for bringing or buying his/her lunch.

Please note that admission to the CDC Disease Detective Camp is competitive.  Applications are ranked by an independent panel, so it is important that essays are thoughtfully written and all required components are included. 

The deadline for applications is April 6, 2012.  Letters will be emailed to all applicants on May 4, 2012.  For more information on the camp and the application process, please visit http://www.cdc.gov/museum/camp/about.htm.

Dear All,

We hope that you all had spent a wonderful holiday season with your family and friends. Our school is now entering to its second semester. Without you, TSG won't be able to make a lot of outstanding achievements in a short span of time. Let's work together again to make TSG more mature and prosper.

School will start on January 7, 2012. Preview is welcome & free for all classes. TSG will also give you 10% tuition discount for referral.

Enclosed are classroom layout (same classroom as last semester), calendar, and school map.

台灣學校中秋夜市散記 列印 E-mail

 今年亞特蘭大台灣同鄉會中秋節”台灣夜市”已經是連續第五年舉辦,台灣學校的夜市路邊攤陣容的是其中最精彩和最受歡迎的主力。中秋夜市擺攤販賣各種台灣小吃的活動是從2007年的中秋節,由當時的同鄉會創始,利用私人倉庫旁邊的停車場,規劃有小吃攤位,兒童遊戲的區域,燈光音響卡拉OK和舞台的設計,每年在這短短的幾個小時吸引了幾百位慕名而來的鄉親和不同族裔的人潮,去年更有喬州州長候選人Mr. Nathan Deal專程來此拜訪及和鄉親們同樂,可見台灣夜市的活動也成為推廣台灣文化的重要活動之一。

本校鼓隊受邀參加4/15/2011到4/17/2011在亞特蘭大市Piedmont Park舉辦的Atlanta Dogwood Festival。這是美國東南區規模最大的園遊會,此活動已有七十多年的歷史,除了第二次世界大戰期間在1941年停辦一次外,每年都在dogwood開花期間於市內各地盛大的舉辦不同形式的慶祝活動,近十年來除了三年前因天候乾旱,改到Lenox Square舉辨之外,每年均在市區的Piedmont Park舉行。

寶貝查某仔要上大學了 ~ 阿爸 ㄟ 心內話 列印 E-mail

 Vivian要上大學了!她的中小學求學過程一直讓我跟Vickie很擔心。她在學校內的考試成績評量一直處於後段班,唸書不積極,理科的領悟力不好,動作緩慢,洗澡上廁所時間每每以小時計算,每天磨蹭到半夜一兩點才睡覺,早上起不來,上學常遲到,假日不過中午不起床,每天都被她的爸媽念啊催啊趕啊,常弄得大家都很煩。但是每次到了升學的關卡,別人是過關斬將,我們Vivian是跌破眼鏡,而且是跌破大家的眼鏡。
